Accessibility at St. Luke’s
Our intent at St. Luke’s is to welcome everyone, of all abilities, to our services, programs and events. Many are also recorded to our YouTube channel, this website or Facebook.
Making worshipers comfortable and at ease in our spaces is at the heart of our building developments and improvements. We continue to add more features of accessibility to accommodate variously abled guests. If you have an idea of how we could make our church even more accommodating, please get in touch.
Our two-story building is scent and smoke-free and has separate accessible entrances, but no elevator. Accessible washrooms are available on both floors. Designated parking spaces on paved surfaces are clearly signed, and on-site wheelchairs are available to borrow and use within the building.
Microphones are used in the majority of our services to enable hearing-aid adjustments, and prayer and hymn lyrics are usually printed boldly and provided in an overhead screen for easy reading.
Several of our event spaces, including the main sanctuary, have new heat pumps which allow good air flow and controlled heating and cooling at comfortable settings.
We’re also conscious of allergies and encourage anyone with allergies to let us know of any irritants that can be avoided at church or our programs.
