Global Outreach

A School in Los Quinchos, Nicaragua

For our Outreach Project during Lent and Easter, the congregation is learning about and contributing to a building project at the Centro Escolar Rodolfo Rodríguez Alvarado. We are helping the street children of Nicaragua get an education.

Visit the project page for more information.

To support this initiative, donations can be made through our page.

St. Luke’s Reads

In January and February 2015, the congregation was invited to read books on Malala Yousafzai. The age appropriate books from picture to adult, all told of this teenager who stood up to the Taliban advocating for education for all children.

At Book Club Gathering we shared our learnings and discussed the issues raised. This initiative gave rise to our Outreach Project.

Our sincere thanks to local business Otis and Clementine's Books and Coffee for their generous support in recommending and securing the books for St. Luke's Reads.

If you did not have an opportunity to participate in St. Luke's Read, the book are available in our library.

Foster Child

St. Luke's sponsors a foster child. Our Sunday School Children correspond with our child and through that connection, develop an awareness of life in a different culture and circumstance in another part of the world.
