About Worship

Our Worship Service is a blend of traditional and contemporary.

Music and drama are key components in the development of the services that range from reflective and thought provoking to interactive and inter-generational.

A PowerPoint presentation accompanies the service adding color and image to the meaningful message conveyed in word and song. While most services are lead by our minister, we often engage special speakers to help us explore complex and controversial topics of special interest to our congregation and the wider community.

Our morning announcements, the scriptures, Minute for Mission and pastoral prayer are all regularly lay led with additional lay involvement in other parts of the service on occasion.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion monthly.

In addition to Sunday morning Worship, we hold a number of additional services throughout the year to mark the Christian Seasons including Blue Christmas, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and On the Rocks of Peggy’s Cove our Easter Sunrise Service.

The Worship Team make plans to celebrate the Christian Seasons, prepare for Baptism and Communion Services, and arrange for special worship experiences.

If you would like to serve on the Worship Team or contribute to worship by greeting, reading or in some other way, please contact our Worship Ministry: worship@stlukesunited.ca.
