St. Luke’s is an Affirmed Ministry
Against Racism & Homophobia Across All Ministries
We stand collectively as a community committed to welcoming all individuals that cross the threshold of St. Luke’s United Church. We align with the national United Church of Canada program that provides our community with Affirming resources, national support, and solidarity as a Church that supports Queer love and anti-racism.
Learning to stand up against homophobia and racism in our society is important at St. Luke’s. Our Affirming Team has organized several learning moments following worship this March. Using videos, books, and personal experience, they are raising awareness about becoming and acting as an ally, addressing people with proper pronouns and more.
St. Luke’s proudly uses this image to confirm its full participation as an Affirmed Ministry of the United Church of Canada.
Sharing and wearing Ally stickers sends a positive message of support to others from the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
