Building Update:
Lower Hall Renovation Refreshes A Popular Community Space
With the New Year launches a long lasting renovation project at St. Luke's.
A new floor treatment, called epoxy coating, will be installed mid-January across all the spaces of the Lower Hall. This will instantly update and add colour and vibrancy to the popular rooms used regularly by the community.
Once completed, updated baseboards and fresh paint will also spruce up the décor.
"Following the local fires, St. Luke's supported Giant Steps Daycare in the Lower Hall for more than a year while they built their new facility," adds Elaine Forhan, office administrator in charge of rentals.
"The Lower Hall is busy and so well used. We regularly host artist groups who paint there, clothing and seasonal sale events, group meetings for support, Square Roots veggie sales and election polling stations all make regular use of it.
We’ll have a pause on activities for a bit and when the renovation is completed the end of the month, we’ll be back offering rentals at reasonable pricing.”
Many thanks to Jim MacDonald, volunteer project manager, Elaine, and all the volunteers helping the renovation by moving items off the floor and ensuring the project goes smoothly.
Another successful building upgrade led by the church’s Property Ministry.
